About Cousteau PBS

The Cousteau family name is loved by aquatic life all around the world, as well as a huge number of human beings. 1Q built elaborate globe animations for two seasons of this hit prime-time PBS show.

An interesting story:
In 2006 this program screened in the White House at the behest of President Bush. The President was impressed by the issue of marine conservation of the North West Hawaiian Island chain that he promptly signed legislation that set aside the entire chain as a protected maritime park-- a direct change from his previous position. An area larger in size then the entire state of California is now off limits to fishing, mining or degradation from human activities as a result- in part- of this show! Amazingly, Bush even thanked Jean-Michel personally and stated in a press conference that the screening helped him reach this decision. At 1Q, we like to think it was our globe animations that made him change his mind.
