PIXAN becomes 1Q!
To our new friends: 1Q was previously known as PIXAN.
To our old friends: We'll keep the same great quality work you are used to. But now with our new moniker and website we'll be 1,000.00x more potent. That, and we were tired of people thinking we were trying to sound like PIXAR, which really we weren't. PIXAR has an 'R' at the end and we had an 'N', so it was entirely different sounding. Also, Pixan is the name of a festival celebrated in Mexico -- not an animation festival -- more of an ancient day-of-the-dead kind of thing. So PIXAR would have been totally off-base if they had demanded we change our name. Not that they ever asked us to. It would have been awesome however if Disney became confused by the closeness of our names had accidentally tried to merge with us instead of PIXAR. I'm not sure we'd have told them of their mistake until we held a majority of Disney's voting shares then we'd clue them in. You won't find Nemo here. What a hoot that would have been!
Well anyway, 1Q is an excellent if somewhat cryptic name. And we hope it will be synonymous with many excellent but cryptic animations for years to come.
